Is it now easier to get home from Manly at 2.30AM? Are the buses reliable and are there more taxis available? We want to get an idea of how well the transport system is working.

No it's shit house! It took me over two hours to get a bloody cab on Saturday night. The bus service is crap and if you're not a pretty girl then you have no chance of getting a taxi. The cabbies just pick and choose their fair.
I agree. We don't even bother going to Manly anymore because it closes early and it is to hard to get home. Prefer to make my way to the city even though that also takes forever to get home, at least you can get a cab!
they need a train station. it is way too difficult to travel around that area regardless of the time of day. after a late night partying it is literally impossible.
Oh My God! I spent over an hour on Saturday night waiting for my bus to get home but i gave up waiting. I got in the taxi queue instead and luckily got one after almost half an hour. The queue was almost longer than when i got in it when i was leaving, so ridiculous!!
