Safety

How have you found the level of crime since the implementation of the curfew? It has been observed that crime has dropped by 30% on the Corso since the curfew began, but as a patron have you noticed any change when going home at night?

These stats are bullshit. There has never been a big crime problem in Manly. No more than any other suburb or party area. Stop picking on us!! We have a lack of good places to go out anyway and I am sure that the city, Bondi, Parramatta, Kings Cross all have the same problems but are there hours of operation curfewed?

No. So don't place a restriction on us. The people that are the problem need to leave and piss off and let the rest of us enjoy our night out, which we do.

The curfew is good because the streets are quiter and now I can get some sleep.

If it improves the safety of Manly then I am all for it. There has been far to much bad press and it is time that we got a better reputation.

I agreee.. there has never been a huge crime problem in manly... all it is, is the manly daily and other press that pinpoints small incidents and publicises them and breaks everyones trust and oppinions of manly!!
Now we have large congregations of people hanging around in the corso at the end of the night which seems a little stupid, if one of the reason for creating the curfew in the first place was to get rid of people. Police are now unneccesarily talking to and fining people in the corso, as they are on a massive power trip and in turn are causing even more problems!!
I had never doubted my safety in manly.. but now with everyone needing cabs at the same time of the night, i am left for longer on the streets of manly which is where i for the first time have started to be unsure about my safety.
